About the event

Tama Matsuoka Wong is a weed eater, meadow doctor, lawyer, mother of three and a master forager for some of New York City’s most prestigious restaurants. Join us for a horticultural adventure perfectly timed to banish the winter chill. Step into a world of creating a garden from the unexpected where each nook and cranny hold the promise of discovery and sustainability - to revel in the wonders of nature. Tama will also provide unconventional foraging recipes to

cook up healthy and delicious common weeds, and teas from wildflowers.

Copies of Tama’s first two books, Foraged Flavor: Finding Fabulous Ingredients in Your Backyard or Farmer's Market and Scraps, Wilt & Weeds: Turning Wasted Food into Plenty, will be available for sale. Browse tinctures, foraged foods, and teas to purchase. Participants may preorder her new volume, Into the Weeds: How to Garden Like a Forager, to be released March 2024.

Tickets at the door: $20 per person. Cash or check. Doors open at 7pm. Join us for refreshments following the lecture.
