The new Delaware County assessment is more in line with fair market value than some of the previous assessments. Older properties that were assessed closer to the previous rate, which was a percentage of the fair market value, may see an increase in the new assessment value. In November, 2020, when all the new assessments have been determined, the taxing authorities -- municipal, county and school -- will then adjust their millages to meet their 2021 budget requirements.
