We hope you will consider participation in our annual Spring Stewardship Days. You are invited to come to one or all the sessions. If you are able to join us, please know that these are workdays, where we join together to lovingly care for our preserves. There is no substitute for caring minds and hands to sustain the natural, beneficial balance between Nature and Humans in our preserves. If you do come, please be prepared to get your hands dirty!
There will be four sessions spread over two stewardship days:
On Saturday, May 10 – Saul Wildlife Preserve , behind the Old Mill
Session 1 - 9 AM to noon
Session 2 - Noon to 3 PM
On Saturday, May 17 – Chadwick Wildlife Preserve, North Long Point Ln
Session 3 – 9AM to Noon
Session 4 – Noon to 3 PM
You will be able to choose your own activity:
1. Removing invasive plants such as Garlic Mustard and Multiflora Rose
2. Planting small native trees
3. Dressing trails
4. Protecting young native plants from deer
5. Clearing debris and overhead hazards
Activities will be in small, supervised teams. There will be hand tools, materials and assignments ready when you arrive so you can get right to your assignment and enjoy a
productive and satisfying experience. There are jobs for everyone, young and old. Please consider bringing a friend and/or family to enjoy making a difference together in our beautiful Nature Preserves.
Thank you for considering this opportunity. We hope to see you as we join together to tend
nature’s gifts! If you are able to come, please notify JimAudley@aol.com so we can plan
properly and be aware of your activity preferences, if any.
