Memorial Day in Rose Valley

MEMORIAL DAY IN ROSE VALLEY Monday, May 31

Our National Colors will be raised at 9am on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, then lowered to half-staff in memory of our war dead. The flag will be flown near the entrance to Old Mill Lane. All residents are invited to attend the brief ceremony. Our flag will be flown at half-staff in honor of the nation’s battle heroes, until noon, then raised briskly to the top of the flag pole.

Memorial Day honors military personnel who died in the service of our country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle.

Each attendee will be provided with a small flag to be placed in front of the Veterans Memorial in memory of a deceased veteran. Flags for this purpose will be provide during the ceremony and will also be available throughout Memorial Day in a box located behind the water feature’s rock wall.

The Memorial Day Ceremony will include a singing of our National Anthem and the recitation of our Pledge of Allegiance

See you there!

Tim Plummer, Mayor
